Since I am a newbie to this forum and to the study & practice of Stoicism, I thank you in advance for your patience.
As a septuagenarian and a graduate of one of the military academies, I feel that I have been exposed to and practiced Stoicism without knowing many of the foundational ideas & their origins. Having done my stint in the army and spending many years in business and raising 4 children with my bride of 50 years, reading Holiday's book seemed like common sense.
I have read: The Obstacle is the Way; M. A.'s Meditations; bits of Seneca & Epictetus. My plan is to read the great translated works of the Stoics.
I am looking for the most efficient and productive way to practice. It is my intent to start & end each day with this effort as often as possible.
Finally, my question: What rituals and guides & books & blogs do you recommend? My major goal is efficiency and efficacy to daily living. As I mentioned above, reading the translated source documents is already on my agenda. This is my first effort online towards my pursuit of the Stoic Ideal.
Thank you,
Steve
